Dear friends,
You haven’t heard from us for a while because there were many things to be taken care of since my return. Since there is internship prep in September so that they can start their 9-month period of work, activities were very intense. Prior to departure the bags need to be packed with seeds, meds, vet materials, etc.; tools, like sprayers, watering cans, hoes, and pick axes need to be marked so that there would be no mix-up. If you think that this is done quickly then you are wrong! Lots of discussions on how to go about it! But we got it all done.
And then the day came when our 26 students could start their internship! From Tuesday until Friday George (our chauffeur) and I were busy taking the interns to their assigned posts on the Southern peninsula. We praise God that everyone arrived safely and they dove right in to start their work with a lot of enthusiasm. I was especially happy because this time I was able to take some of our people out in the country. The last 3 years it wasn’t possible for me due to my hip problems. But it was almost too much of a challenge for me because on Wednesday, we couldn’t get to Clonard and Dory due to mud too deep and wide to make it through. But we could leave our two interns in good hands with a deacon who organized that the things would be transported by mule and motorcycle taxi later.
Please, pray for the 26 young people that they can do their work well and that they will be a testimony for the Lord. For some of them is it the first time that they left their families so pray also for quick adaptation in their assigned communities and with their new families there.
We want to wish you a blessed Sunday under God’s Word.
